After a brief three race pause, 2007 LMP1 champion Dindo Capello finds himself back behind the wheel of an Audi R10 TDI in the American Le Mans Series starting at Lime Rock in two weeks time. The 44 year old Italian, winner of the 2008 Le Mans 24 Hour, joins fellow Italian Emanuele Pirro in the #1 R10. The two have eight Le Mans victories combined.

With 26 victories and the '06 and '07 driver's championships to his credit while paired with Allan McNish, Capello is the most successful driver
in the ALMS. The defending Champion replaces five-time Le Mans winner and double ALMS Champion Frank Biela whose driver contract with AUDI AG is said to have only included only the races in the 2008 American Le Mans Series prior the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Biela has quietly maintained that his contract was through the end of 2008, and it's unknown if the five-time Le Mans winner will be utilized by Audi in a testing capacity in 2008, or if he's been bought out and is free to work for other teams.
