Bouncing back from an accident in opening practice, the No. 2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro paced Thursday's night session at Sebring International Raceway.

Tom Kristensen, who searches for his record seventh overall win in Saturday's Twelve Hours of Sebring (10:30 a.m. Live! SPEED), topped the time charts in the relatively incident-free one-hour and 45-minute session.

The Dane turned a best time of 1:46.660 in his diesel-powered hybrid, edging out the sister, 2012-spec Audi of Benoit Treluyer by 0.026 seconds.

Defending ALMS P1 champions Muscle Milk Pickett Racing were eight-tenths slower in third, followed by the No. 12 Rebellion Racing Lola B12/60 Toyota of Nick Heidfeld, who was fourth overall and in class.

Level 5 Motorsports showed the way in P2, with its pair of entries leading a HPD 1-2-3 in class. The No. 551 HPD ARX-03b of Ryan Briscoe turned in a best time of 1:52.138, some six-tenths quicker than reigning IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay in the squad's No. 552 entry.

Extreme Speed Motorsports continued to make improvements in its P2 debut weekend, with David Brabham reeling off a 1:53.133 to go third quickest in class.

GT saw a Corvette Racing 1-2, led by the No. 4 machine of Oliver Gavin, who peddled his Corvette C6.R to a best lap of 2:00.282.

Teammate Jordan Taylor wound up second, ahead of the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari of Matteo Malucelli in third.

PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports (PC) and Flying Lizard Motorsports (GTC) led their respective categories.

All 42 entries turned laps in the mandatory session.

The nearly two-hour session only saw a single red flag period, for the No. 7 BAR1 Motorsports Oreca FLM09 of Rusty Mitchell, which made slight contact with the Turn 3 wall.

Practice 4 is on tap for 9:20 a.m. Friday. It will mark the final practice prior the afternoon's qualifying session.

RESULTS: Practice 3
