THIRD DYSON LOLA? — While Dyson Racing has returned to a two-car squad this weekend, with the addition of the No. 20 Lola B11/66 Mazda for Eric Lux and Michael Marsal, team VP and sporting director Chris Dyson tells SPEED.com there’s a “very good chance” of seeing a third Lola-Mazda on track later this year.

“I told everybody last year that we'd try to get three cars on the grid and I'm still working pretty hard on that,” Dyson said. “The tenor of the discussions we're having about the second half of the year are very, very positive. Hopefully we can get one more car out on the grid from our stables.”

While more news from the Dyson front is expected next week, Lux and Marsal are running a slightly updated version of the Lola B09/86 here this weekend, featuring the shark fin and additional weight to comply with IMSA regulations (but no louver cut-outs). If Dyson’s third entry materializes, it would be the team’s second new Lola B12/60 Mazda, which has yet to race.

ROSCOE’S ON BOARD WITH BLACK SWAN — Following a successful partnership with Magnus Racing on the streets of Long Beach last year, Roscoe’s Chicken ‘n Waffles, a Los Angeles-area food institution, is again on the side of an ALMS ace car, this time Black Swan Racing’s Lola B11/80 Honda.

The Tim Pappas and Jeroen Bleekemolen-driven P2 contender is proudly carrying the Roscoe’s Chicken graphics and has made local community hero Samantha Gruelich, a Senior at Long Beach’s Polytechnic High School, an honorary team member this weekend.

While it’s been a challenging weekend for Black Swan, with an accident in practice sidelining the car as it awaits a new right-rear upright, Pappas and Bleekemolen will roll off second on the grid tomorrow, thanks to the cancellation of qualifying.

BALANCE OF PERFORMANCE UPDATE — IMSA has issued a handful of Balance of Performance adjustments, effective for Long Beach. Black Swan Racing’s Lola B11/80 Honda reverts to its pre-Sebring weight of 900kg (-20kg) while the Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs also receive a 20kg weight break.

Corvette, meanwhile, will have a 6mm larger fuel flow restrictor, an adjustment that was originally contested last year at Baltimore from the GT competition.
