Rebellion Racing kicked off its Petit Le Mans bid with topping the time sheets in opening practice Thursday morning at Road Atlanta.

The Anglo-Swiss squad, fresh from locking up the FIA WEC LMP1 Privateer's Trophy last weekend in Japan, posted a best time of 1:11.425 in the damp 60-minute session.

Neel Jani was at the controls of the Lola B12/60 Toyota at the time, edging out the No. 6 Muscle Milk Pickett Racing HPD ARX-03a of Klaus Graf by 0.32 seconds.

OAK Racing led the way for the second consecutive day in LMP2, thanks to a 1:13.971 set by Olivier Pla, who put his Morgan-Nissan third overall.

The Greaves Motorsport Zytek Z11SN Nissan overcame electrical-related issues from Wednesday's session to go second quickest in class, followed by ALMS regulars Conquest Endurance in third.

Both of the championship-seeking Level 5 Motorsport HPD ARX-03bs did not set a time.

In GT, the No. 44 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 RSR of Marco Holzer was quickest, while Bruno Junquiera (RSR Racing), Matt Griffin (AF Corse) and Spencer Pumpelly (TRG) led PC, GTE-Am and GTC, respectively.

The 2.54-mile circuit slowly dried out following overnight and morning showers, with a dry line eventually appearing.

As a result of the tricky conditions, only 27 of the 41 entries set time.

Thursday's second practice is on tap for 3:20 p.m. local.

RESULTS: Practice 1
