After claiming its first overall victory in sports car competition in last month's Petit Le Mans, Rebellion Racing is set for a championship attack on the American Le Mans Series in 2013.

SPEED.com has learned that the Anglo-Swiss squad is laying out plans for a full-season entry in the P1 class next year with at least one Lola B12/60 Toyota.

Further details of Rebellion's program are unclear at the moment, and if it would also include a return to the FIA World Endurance Championship, where the team took top honors in the LMP1 Privateer championship this year.

Rebellion, however, has three Lola-Toyota chassis in total, which presumably could make it feasible to compete in both championships.

As a one-off entry, the team's No. 12 entry of Neel Jani, Nicolas Prost and Andrea Belicchi won last month's Petit Le Mans, which prompted the Bart Hayden-led squad to evaluate its options in America for the final season of the ALMS under its current format.

While speaking to SPEED.com last month, Hayden confirmed talks were underway for a likely partial-season ALMS effort. Those plans appear to have now been increased to a full-season commitment.

"We feel like we're being torn both ways," Hayden told SPEED.com in October. "There's obviously a big part of me that wants to do WEC because of the prestige and the fact that it's the World Championship.

"But then you go to America and get wrapped up in the ambiance there and you win the race and you know that in every race, you have a chance of the outright victory. When you're a racer, that's why you go racing."

This latest addition would give a significant boost to the ALMS P1 ranks, which so far sees confirmed entries from Dyson Racing and newly crowned champions Muscle Milk Pickett Racing. As many as five P1 cars may now be expected, depending on potential second entries from Rebellion and Dyson.

Full details of Rebellion's 2013 plans are expected to be formally announced in the coming weeks.
