Andretti Green Racing (AGR) announced today it has signed James Rossiter as co-driver of the XM Satellite Radio Acura for upcoming American Le Mans Series stops at Road America and Mosport International Raceway. Rossiter will be paired with Franck Montagny at the next two series events. Montagny joined Andretti Green’s ALMS program last month as the primary driver of the XM Acura.
The Aug. 9 Generac 500 at Road America will mark the first start in the United States for Rossiter, who has been part of the Honda Racing family since 2005 when he was tabbed as a development driver for Honda Racing’s F1 program. A native of Oxford, England, Rossiter established his racing roots in karts at the age of 14 and then moved into cars in 2001. He spent two seasons competing in Formula Renault with a best championship finish of third in 2003 and then graduated to Formula 3 in 2004, when he posted three victories and a third-place result in the overall standings.

In 2005, Rossiter moved on to the Formula 3 Euroseries and was also added to the roster of Honda Racing F1 team development drivers. For
2006, he moved up to the World Series by Renault with the highlight of his season coming in the form of a second-place finish as part of the racing slate at the Monaco Grand Prix. Most recently, Rossiter worked as a test and reserve driver for the Super Aguri F1 team.
James Rossiter, #26 XM Satellite Radio Acura: “I’m really looking forward to driving the XM Acura for Andretti Green Racing in the ALMS and in the United States. I’m looking forward to the new challenge as well as racing with Franck (Montagny). I really just want to enter into this with the goal of learning as much as possible. AGR has a great history as a great team, so hopefully we can do some great things together.”
Michael Andretti, co-owner, Andretti Green Racing: “We feel very good about adding James to our lineup for at least these next two events. He’s a promising, young talent and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do here. During the past couple of events, the XM Acura has shown the necessary speed to contend for the podium and we just need a couple breaks to go our way.”
