Peugeot is back in their garage, car in the air, and major hydraulic repairs under way. The 908 won't be winning Sebring and has raised early concerns about holding up to the sustained pace of Audi at Le Mans.

The LMP2 Barazi-Epsilon crashed in turn 11, forcing a long yellow. Just returned to green flag racing with Mike Rockenfeller in the lead and the incredible AGR Acura piloted by Fittipaldi in 2nd overall! Gimmi Bruni brought his Risi Ferrari in to inspect the front brakes during the yellow and returned to the track without losing a position.
McNish made a stop just before the green, pulling out inches in front of the Peugeot. The two cars are now engaged in a wicked battle with the 908 cutting and thrusting through traffic to try and pass the 5th place R10.

Peugeot suffered a hydraulic problem at the rear of the car--mechanics worked at the left rear corner to clean hydraulic fluid while affecting repairs. Lord Drayson crashed, bring out a yellow which fell just as Peugeot came in for repairs. With a minimized loss of laps, the 908 is now 3 tours behind McNish's #1 Audi R10 TDI.

The BK Motorsports/Mazdaspeed entry has been DQ'd per regulation 13.5.4: "Any car not presented to pit lane more than an hour after the race start is excluded." Mazda's John Doonan reported a terminal leak appeared at the end of the morning warmup and could not be fixed in time. Expect a strong
The Peugeot is maintaining a 35 second lead over Kristensen's Audi, with the gap expanding and contracting based on traffic. Marco Andretti continues to build a name in sportscar racing after holding the LMP2 lead for an hour. His gap to Dumas in the #7 Penske Porsche is up to an impressive 40 seconds. Corvette Racing is currently a lap up on Terry Borcheller in the Bell Motorsports Aston Martin DBR9. Mika Salo maintains a 30 second lead in GT2.
So far, the class leaders are impressively fast, amassing large gaps to their second place rivals.

Hour One:
Off to the races! Peugeot leapt into the lead as the green flag waved—an hour into the race, and the Peugeot appears to be managing its lead from arrears.
All three diesel cars broke the track record on lap three! With the yellow flag after the first thirty minutes, the French car opted for fuel only while Audi went for both fuel and tires.
With the impressive pace shown by the 908 prior to the yellow, Audi has stayed much closer on new tires but has yet to show the pace to make a pass. It looks as if Peugeot is smartly managing their pace, keeping a safe gap between the German cars to preserve their resources. If they don’t need to push to stay ahead of the R10’s, why risk their reliability?
Michelin says the leading Risi Ferrari will be able to double-stint their tires. At the pace their showing, the American Le Mans Series might consider bumping them up into the GT1 division.
Tafel racing has been a bit of a surprise early on, as have been the Flying Lizards and their new Porsche 911 RSR’s. Melo and Salo are untouchable right now, but Porsche appear to have done their homework over the winter to shorten the gap to the F430’s.
The #6 Penske Porsche is off track with an overheating issue. An oil pump failure is suspected.
