ALMS: Van Der Steur Return Highlights Lime Rock Entry
American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix marks second-half start of the 2009 season.

van der Steur Racing’s return to the American Le Mans Series’ grid and the second round of entries in the new Challenge class highlight the entry list for the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix, set for July 17-18 at Lime Rock Park.

Gunnar van der Steur and Adam Pecorari will drive the Kumho-shod Radical SR9-AER in LMP2 at the 1.5-mile, 10-turn circuit. They will compete against both Acura (Lowe’s Fernandez Racing) and Mazda (Dyson Racing). The van der Steur/Pecorari pairing last drove together in 2007, and they were 10th overall at Lime Rock.

Five Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars from the Challenge class are on the Lime Rock entry including Salt Lake City winners Martin and Melanie Snow of Snow Racing. Lime Rock also will mark the return of Shane Lewis to the grid, his first race in the American Le Mans Series since 2003. He will drive with John Baker in one of two ORBIT Racing entries.

Last year’s overall winning duo of David Brabham and Scott Sharp are among those returning to Lime Rock with their Patrón Highcroft Racing Acura ARX-02a. The team is based in nearby Danbury, Conn.
