PROGRAMMING NOTE: The AMA Pro Superbike and SportBike races from Infineon Raceway will air Saturday, May 5, starting at 8:00pm ET and Sunday, May 6, starting at 11:00pm ET on SPEED.
Top times from Friday's first practice for AMA Pro National Guard Superbike:
1. Josh Hayes (Yamaha) 1:36.773
2. David Anthony (Suzuki) 1:37.697
3. Blake Young (Suzuki) 1:37.796
HAYES: "We were going pretty decent in the first session and we were blessed with some decent weather. I can't really remember but I think last year we had some overcast so our times were a little bit slower. We've developed our bike a little further and we're pretty happy about where we are at. We'll just keep hammering away."
ANTHONY: "The track started off slippery and that is where I really do good so it gave me confidence later. The track came around really quick and we just ticked off the laps and made some adjustments to finish strong."
YOUNG: "The bike seems pretty good. I'm feeling good after the crash in Atlanta. We're working some things out with the bike. It's good to be at Infineon."
NorCal Riders:
4th Ben Bostrom (Redding)
20th Matthew Orange (Half Moon Bay)
Top times from Friday's first practice for AMA Daytona SportBike:
1. Jason DiSalvo (Triumph) 1:39.918
2. Joey Pascarella (Yamaha) 1:40.041
3. Martin Cardenas (Suzuki) 1:40.100
DiSALVO: "The Triumph 675R feels great. We kind of picked up this year where we left off from last year, back on top. I really love this circuit, it's so twisty and flowing, up and down. It's kind of like a motorcycle rider's paradise."
PASCARELLA: "We were coming in almost every lap to make changes. We've made big leaps and gains since Atlanta. It felt good." Pascarella resides in Antelope in Northern California.
CARDENAS: "The bike isn't good yet, it's OK. We have to find more rear grip."
