Country music star and former "American Idol" contestant Josh Gracin will help celebrate the reopening of "The Rock" May 4 when he performs the national anthem for the Carolina 500 ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Rockingham Speedway.

Since being introduced to the country music world during the hit show's second season, the former Marine has risen to national prominence with his first No. 1 hit, "Nothin’ to Lose." Gracin already has had three top-five singles and has just released his second CD -- "We Weren’t Crazy."

Also participating in pre-race ceremonies are NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Tony Stewart, crew chief Greg Zipadelli and former NASCAR driver Ricky Rudd. Pre-race activities begin at 11 a.m. with Stewart waving the green flag at noon.
