The ARCA RE/MAX Series will continue an eight-year relationship with Kentucky Speedway with two race dates at the 1.5-mile Sparta, Kentucky-based facility in 2009, marking the first time that ARCA has raced at an SMI-owned facility since 2004.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series will open Kentucky Speedway's 2009 season withits 18th all-time appearance at the track for a 150-mile race on May 9th. The ARCA RE/MAX Series' second 2009 appearance to Kentucky Speedway is a same-day double header with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on July 18th. The track, which has been hosting ARCA RE/MAX Series race events since 2000, was recently purchased by Speedway Motorsports, Inc. and is preparing for its first year of operation under the new ownership group.

Last May, Roush Fenway Racing stock car talent Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. claimed his first Kentucky Speedway win by a margin of 0.374 seconds over former Formula One racing star Scott Speed. Speed won in the ARCA RE/MAX Series' July appearance at the track. Other Kentucky Speedway ARCA RE/MAX Series winners over the years include Frank Kimmel, Chad Blount, Ryan Hemphill, Kyle Busch, Brad Coleman, Erik Darnell, Michael McDowell, Ryan Newman, Tim Steele and Steve Wallace. Four affordable ticket plans for the 2009 Kentucky Speedway season will
be placed on sale Oct. 29th and can be reserved and renewed online at http://www.kentuckyspeedway.com.

The complete 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule is expected to be released in full this week.

Congratulations to Ken Butler, III

Congratulations to Ken Butler, III, who proposed to girlfriend Jaime Wolfe over the weekend. Butler finished tenth in the ARCA RE/MAX Series driver's point standings this season driving the No. 22 Aaron's Lucky Dog Dream Machine Toyota for Eddie Sharp Racing. Wolfe, an aspiring singer, has performed the American and Canadian national anthems at several ARCA RE/MAX Series events this season, including the season finale at Toledo Speedway on October 12th.

ARCA Champ Allgaier Adds Phoenix to Penske Racing Schedule

Reigning ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion Justin Allgaier, who announced a 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Schedule with Penske Racing in September, has added Phoenix to his 2008 Penske schedule. The Springfield, Illinois native, who earned a Series' high six ARCA RE/MAX Series victories en route to the 2008 title, now plans to compete for Penske Racing in all three of the Series' remaining 2008 races, including Texas this weekend, Phoenix on November 8th and Homestead on November 15th.
