Team Australia's Will Power will enter his home race next month at Surfers Paradise with reasons for optimism, as the Aussie topped the final Champ Car World Series testing session of this season.
Power posted a best lap of 51.51 around the Sebring road course on Tueday, beating second-fastest Tristan Gommendy of PKV Racing by just 0.020. Monday's leader Sebastien Bourdais did not run, as he used up all of his allocated '07 testing miles in the first day.
Frenchman Simon Pagenaud in the other Team Australia car was fourth, 0.2sec behind Power and also in arrears of new PCM driver Mario Dominguez, who posted a solid 51.55 time.
"Our test this week was good and we learned lots of things and that is important," Pagenaud said. "I expect a big crowd in Australia rooting for both Will and myself. It was agood to show our strength heading into the next event because we both want to do well for [sponsor] Aussie Vineyards."
Alex Figge in the other PCM entry rounded out the top-five in the 12-car field. The Champ Car World Series goes back into idling until October 21st, date of the Surfers race, then wraps up on November 11 at Mexico City.

David Phillips and Jeff Olson query Sebastien Bourdais and Sam Hornish Jr. on their consideration of F1 and NASCAR futures, respectively, in our November issue, on sale now.
