With the excitement and drama of the Rotax Grand Nationals now in the rearview mirror, the Gatorz Karting Cup can look forward to their final race of the year, to be run backwards at Moran Raceway on September 22.

And despite the fact that most of the season championships have been locked up, the two that remain undecided will no doubt provide excellent viewing.

MyChron4 Junior Rotax has been a season-long battle between CRG drivers Justin Coplen and Miles Maroney. Stalking them has been Cameron Jocelyn, who was runner-up in the championship last year and, despite having no wins yet this season, found himself as the points leader after the series' last race in Lake Perris.

But his lead isn't huge - he's only got two points on Coplen, who has only two points on Maroney. After finishing third at the Nationals, only to be stripped of his finish due to an incorrectly installed oil seal - which let Coplen into third and off to Dubai - Jocelyn is looking for redemption in the form of a Gatorz Karting Cup season championship.

The other class which will feature a heated championship is Metal Manipulations Club Rotax. This class, which was designed for a more recreational Rotax racer, has essentially been a two-horse race all season between Birel drivers John Stewart and Russ Jordan. Stewart appeared to have the championship in hand before the Lake Perris round, where he was muscled aside by both Jordan and series newcomer Ari Baquet. Baquet threw a race lead away, however, letting Jordan to the win and giving him a chance at the championship.

Stewart still leads the championship, but only has nine points in hand over Jordan. Additionally, Baquet has a chance of outrunning Jober Velasco for third in the season's championship.
