Get Set for the PRI Show

The 17th annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show will be held this Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 9-11, in the Indiana Convention Center & RCA Dome, in Indianapolis. More than 40,000 racing entrepreneurs from 40 countries are expected to attend, and more than 1,300 manufacturers of hardcore racing products exhibit in the show in 3,100 booths. It is the world's largest auto racing trade show.

"The growth of the PRI Trade Show is a testament to auto racing's robust health and prosperity worldwide," said Steve Lewis, show producer and publisher of Performance Racing Industry magazine. "This trade show provides the perfect opportunity for racing entrepreneurs to learn about new product lines available, and the new products racers will want to put on their race cars next season. And, there are plenty of opportunities to meet new suppliers!"

In order to see all of the exhibits and new products at this year's PRI Trade Show, attendees are encourage to make their travel arrangements to shop all three days of the show. The PRI Show is massive! Also, special pre-show events make Wednesday a "must" as well!

On the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 8, the Industry Roundtable will take place from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. in the Marriott Ballroom across Maryland Street from the Convention Center. NASCAR's Jeff Hammond returns as our moderator, overseeing a panel of motorsports experts and racing veterans. including IRL team owner Eddie Cheever; Nextel Cup series director John Darby; NHRA vice president of marketing Gary Darcy; Irwindale Speedway COO/GM Bob DeFazio; Del West Europe managing director Bruno Engelric; Sonny's Racing Engines owner Sonny Leonard, plus a few other guests.



Doors to the 17th Annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show open at 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, in the convention center meeting rooms, lobby area and the RCA Dome. The rest of the show opens at 10 a.m., and all exhibit areas are open until 6 p.m. Trade show hours for Friday, Dec. 10, are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday,
December 11.

Immediately after the close of the PRI Show's first day, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, make your way over to the Marriott Downtown Ballroom for the annual Industry Reception. Always fun, the Industry Reception provides a great opportunity to socialize with racing industry friends while enjoying complimentary food, live music and racing games. Among the most popular racing games are the exciting Pit Stop Challenge and the annual Clevite Engine Builder Challenge. The Industry Reception does not require a ticket, and there is no charge.

Offering success strategies for the racing industry, retail management seminars and workshops are slated for Friday and Saturday, Dec. 10–11, from 8–9 a.m. at the Indiana Convention Center Meeting Rooms, adjacent to the Sagamore Ballroom.

Machinery Row is one of the most popular sections of the show, where over 100 manufacturers of race shop machinery and equipment display the latest in race machining technology.

Some additional highlights of the show are:

Stand 21 Chairman Yves Morizot is hosting Dr. Terry R. Trammell, renowned Indianapolis Orthopedic Surgeon, at a special seminar discussed Heat Stress and Racing. The event takes place Friday, Dec. 10 at 2:00 p.m. in Meeting Room 211.

Coast Fabrication will be sponsoring a seminar at the show entitled "Clarifying Bearing Myths. The talk will be given by Ken Fegeley, Racing Services Engineer for SKF North America. The event takes place Friday, Dec. 10 at 12:00 p.m. in Meeting Room 207. Coast also will be introducing Aerocatch at Booth nos. 1051 & 1053.

The 15th Annual Engine Charity Sweepstakes, drawn at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Sunnen booth in Area C, gives attendees a chance to win a race engine built by Charlie Buck, of Buck Racing Engines. Tickets for this popular, annual charity event can be purchased at the Engine Charity Sweepstakes booth in Machinery Row. Organized by Sunnen Products, all proceeds from the Charity Sweepstakes are donated the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Tickets are $2 each.
