Following the car's mixed-result debut at this year's Rolex 24 at Daytona, Audi will return to the Florida high banks with an increased presence, with no fewer than four R8 GRAND-AM cars and a full slate of factory drivers.

The German manufacturer announced Wednesday that factory drivers Marc Basseng, Rene Rast and Frank Stippler will pilot one of two cars entered by APR Motorsport, while also confirming new entries by Alex Job Racing and Rum Bum Racing for the around-the-clock marathon.

Basseng and Stippler return to the Alabama-based team after driving the No. 52 entry in this year's Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen. Rast, meanwhile, will be making his debut with APR, but is no stranger to Rolex Series competition, having won the 50th Rolex 24 with Magnus Racing.

APR will also run its No. 51 car in next month's season-opener, with Ian Baas the only confirmed driver thus far.

"Last year, when we competed in the Rolex Series for the first time in the 50th Rolex 24 at Daytona, it was a great moment for our organization after several seasons of racing and being competitive in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge," said APR owner Stephen Hooks.

"On a personal level, I was extremely proud to watch an APR Audi take the green flag - and the checkered flag - at the Rolex 24. Adding the second car with a lineup of factory drivers for Daytona will be another great moment for the team."

Alex Job, meanwhile, will field an Audi R8 GRAND-AM of its own for factory drivers Filipe Albuquerque, Oliver Jarvis and Edoardo Mortara, joining its already confirmed Porsche 911 GT3 Cup entry for the race.

Finally, Frank Biela, Christopher Haase and FIA GT1 World Champion Markus Winkelhock have been named as drivers for Rum Bum Racing's new Audi entry, with an additional pilot expected to be shortly announced.

Further details on Alex Job's and Rum Bum's new programs are expected to be forthcoming.
