Grammy Award-winning music producer Jim Jonsin and extreme sports superstar Bucky Lasek are ready to "rock the grid" in 2012 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge competition.
The two will team with Rebel Rock Racing to co-drive a Porsche 997 for the full Grand Sport campaign, beginning with the season-opening GRAND-AM 200 at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, Jan. 27.
The father-son combination of Gary and Mark Jensen of Winter Park, Fla., will co-drive the team's second Porsche for the season.
"We're looking to run two cars - and possibly a third - for the season, and can't wait to get started," Jonsin said. "We were very happy with our first official GRAND-AM test at Daytona. We learned a lot about our new Porsche, and look forward to taking part in 2012 competition."
Jonsin is a producer, songwriter and CEO of Rebel Rock Entertainment. He has collaborated with numerous artists, including Beyonce, Usher, Lil Wayne, Eminem and Jamie Foxx.
Lasek is a professional skateboarder and a seven-time gold medalist in the X Games. His racing background includes the Skip Barber Racing Series and the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge.
The team is also exploring the possibility of competing in January's 50th Anniversary Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 28-29.
