After Chevy dominance in Friday morning's practice, the Ford-powered Riley of Starworks Motorsport rose to the fore in the second official practice for Sunday's Grand Prix of Miami (1 p.m. ET, Live! SPEED).

Ryan Dalziel ended the 60-minute session on the top of the time charts, posting a 1:14.867 lap time in his new-generation Daytona Prototype. While it was some seven-tenths slower than David Donohue's best from the morning, it was still good enough for the Starworks Motorsport driver to end Practice 2 on top.

The rapid Scot, who will team with co-driver Enzo Potolicchio, was 0.074 seconds faster than the No. 01 Telmex Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-BMW of Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in second, which ran a 1:14.941 lap time.

The No. 10 SunTrust Racing Corvette DP of Max Angelelli and Ricky Taylor was third. As part of a shake-up within the Wayne Taylor led-organization, Angelelli is tabbed to qualify the Dallara-chassied machine tomorrow and will take the opening stint, typically reserved for Ricky Taylor.

In GT, the No. 67 TRG Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car of Spencer Pumpelly led the way, thanks to his 1:20.695 lap time set in the closing stages of the combined session.

Prior to Pumpelly's flyer, Jordan Taylor had topped the time sheets, but eventually wound up second in his Autohaus Motorsports Camaro GT.R. The No. 41 Team Sahlen's Mazda RX-8 of Wayne Nonnamaker and Dane Cameron were third.

No major incidents were reported, other than a spin by Steve Bertheau, prior to co-driver Pumpelly setting the GT session-leading time, and another off for the No. 51 APR Motorsport Audi R8 GRAND-AM of Dr. Jim Norman.

Practice 3 is scheduled to get underway Saturday at 9 a.m. ET,
