Action Express Racing's new pairing topped the time charts Friday morning in opening practice for Saturday's Continental Tire 200 at Watkins Glen.

David Donohue turned a best time of 1:10.021 in the 90-minute mixed condition session. Donohue, aboard the No. 5 Corvette DP that he'll share with 21-year-old Jordan Taylor, was 0.089 seconds faster than the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Riley-Ford of John Pew, who recorded an impressive 1:10.110 in the tricky conditions.

The No. 10 SunTrust Racing Corvette DP of Max Angelelli and Ricky Taylor were third, ahead of Alex Popow's No. 2 Starworks Motorsport Riley-Ford, who again teams with Sebastien Bourdais following their win at the Brickyard.

GT was led by Bill Auberlen in the No. 94 Turner Motorsport BMW M3, thanks to a 1:14.914 lap time recorded by the BMW veteran.

Auberlen edged out the No. 43 Team Sahlen's Mazda RX-8 of Dane Cameron by 0.325 seconds, with the Indy-winning Magnus Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car third.

All 25 cars took part in the session.

Practice 2 is on tap for 11 a.m. ET.
