GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing will have the honor of heading into tomorrow's 50th Rolex 24 at Daytona having set the quickest time in final practice.

However, it won't have much importance, as the 60-minute session was run under a mix of rain and damp conditions.

The No. 99 Corvette DP of Alex Gurney, Jon Fogarty and Memo Gidley laid down a best time of 1:50.365, some three seconds faster than the No. 48 Paul Miller Racing Porsche, which paced GT and was second quickest overall.

Forty-four cars set times during the session, with most just completing a minimum number of installation laps ahead of tomorrow's 3:30 p.m. start (Live! SPEED).

RESULTS: Practice 5
