GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing topped the time charts in Thursday's second practice for the 50th Rolex 24 at Daytona. The No. 99 Corvette DP of Alex Gurney laid down a 1:41.961 lap time, edging out the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Corvette by 0.012 seconds.

Corvette DPs were 1-2-3-4 in the one-hour practice, which saw a session-ending fire by the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette of Darren Law.

The No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-BMW of Scott Dixon was quickest of the non-Corvettes in fifth, ahead of the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Riley-Ford of Ozz Negri in sixth.

Starworks Motorsports' new Riley-Ford turned its first laps following a morning engine change. Ryan Dalziel completed 18 laps in the car he'll share with Lucas Luhr, Allan McNish, Enzo Potolicchio and Alex Popow.

In other news, the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-BMW suffered an engine failure in the session and will not qualify. Scott Pruett was at the wheel.

In GT, the No. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche of Andy Lally posted a 1:49.772, the quickest of the session. Bill Auberlen wound up second in his No. 94 Turner Motorsports BMW, ahead of the No. 57 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro GT.R of Robin Liddell.

In addition to Law's fire, the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari F458 Italia Grand Am of Gianmaria Bruni stopped on course, which also brought out a black flag.

Next for the Rolex Series is qualifying, scheduled for a 3:45 p.m. ET start for Daytona Prototypes, followed by 4:15 p.m. for the GTs.
