Brendon Hartley led a Starworks 1-2 in second practice for Saturday's GRAND-AM of The Americas.

The New Zealand open-wheel turned sports car star turned a best lap of 2:00.286 in his Riley-Ford he shares with Scott Mayer.

Hartley's time edged out the sister No. 2 Starworks entry of Ryan Dalziel by less than two-tenths.

Third quickest in the 30-minute session was the No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Corvette DP, which paced the opening practice this morning.

AIM Autosport continued to lead the way in GT, with the No. 61 Ferrari 458 Italia Grand Am of Max Papis and Jeff Segal quickest with a 2:09.176, while BGB Motorsports paced GX with its Porsche Cayman.

Qualifying is up next, beginning at 5:20 p.m. CT.
