While Enzo Potolicchio may have pulled out of GRAND-AM competition as a driver, the Venezuelan ace hasn't withdrawn his support for Starworks Motorsport and his co-driver as they pursue the Rolex Sports Car Series championship.

Team owner Peter Baron confirmed to SPEED.com Thursday that they will field two Riley-Ford Daytona Prototypes for the remainder of the season, with the No. 8 car continuing but with Lucas Luhr now at the wheel alongside Ryan Dalziel for this weekend's Continental Tire 200 at Watkins Glen.

Having initially planned to retire the No. 8 car following his decision to leave the series, Potcolicchio has instead elected to keep the title-contending entry on the track and financially support Dalziel and Starworks' efforts of bringing home the DP title.

"We're very grateful that Enzo is helping us get through the remainder of the season," Baron told SPEED.com. "Ryan, Enzo and the 8 car have done very well in the championship this year and after thinking about it for a couple of days, Enzo didn't want his [withdrawal] to hurt Ryan and the team.

"While he's officially done with the series, Enzo still wanted to support Ryan in the car for the championship effort."

With four rounds to go, Dalziel currently sits second in the title race, 11 points from Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas. The same gap separates the two organizations in the DP teams' championship.

Starworks' No. 2 Riley-Ford will again see the pairing of Alex Popow and Sebastien Bourdais this weekend. The duo are fresh off victory in the Brickyard Grand Prix, which helped seal the inaugural North American Endurance Championship for the team.

Baron said he expects open-wheel star Alex Tagliani to be part of the team's lineup for Montreal in less than two weeks' time.
