Team Sahlen's led the way in Thursday's night practice as GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series teams prepare for the 51st Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Simon Pagenaud jumped to the top of the time sheets halfway through the two-hour session, turning a best lap of 1:41.673 in his No. 42 Riley-BMW.

The No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-BMW of Dario Franchitti was second on the time sheets, followed by the Allan McNish-driven Starworks Motorsport Riley-Ford in third.

Just hours after taking the class pole, Nick Tandy put his Konrad Motorsport/Orbit Porsche atop the GT class in practice, thanks to a 1:47.897 lap time. The Englishm edged out the No. 45 Magnus Racing Porsche of Charles Espenlaub, who was second in the night.

Toni Vilander took his No. 61 AIM Autosport Ferrari 458 Italia Grand Am to third quickest in class.

In GX, pole-sitter Shane Lewis also led the way in class. Lewis posted a 1:56.073 lap time in his No. 16 Napleton Racing Porsche Cayman.

The session saw two stoppages, the first for the No. 8 Starworks Motorsport Riley-Ford of Jan Charouz, who went off-course in Turn 3. The second black flag came for the stopped No. 25 Freedom Autosport Mazda6 of Derek Whitis.

Final practice is on tap for Friday at 10:30 a.m. ET.
