The pieces for Enzo Potolicchio’s new GRAND-AM effort are quickly falling into place, as the Venezuelan racer has revealed his team’s name and a star-studded driver lineup for the upcoming Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Potolicchio confirmed Friday to SPEED.com that ex-Peugeot drivers Stephane Sarrazin, Nic Minassian and Pedro Lamy will join him at the wheel of his new Corvette DP for the Rolex Sports Car Series season-opener, in an effort that will be known as 8Star Motorsports.

8Star, symbolic for the eight stars that adorn the Venezuelan flag, will compete in the Rolex Series and FIA World Endurance Championship next year, with Potolicchio’s season-long co-drivers in both series yet to be announced.

Former European Le Mans Series champion Sarrazin is no stranger to Potolicchio, as the two were a part of Starworks Motorsport’s WEC championship-winning season this year, which saw historic class victories at Sebring and Le Mans and the LMP2 World Championship.

Minassian and Lamy also took part in the WEC this year, each earning class victories, including the GTE-Am win at Le Mans for the Portuguese ace. Additionally, both drivers have Rolex 24 experience, with Lamy having made two starts with Wayne Taylor Racing in 2009-10 and Minassian at the wheel of Krohn Racing’s Lola-Ford DP in 2011.

Potolicchio, who finished runner-up in the twice-around-the-clock classic this year, will run his new team out of the ex-Champion Racing workshop in Pompano Beach, Fla., and is expected to make its on-track debut at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 on Jan 4-6.

Further details regarding 8Star's programs are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
