David Ragan and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are looking for a boost from GRAND-AM in their quest for their respective NASCAR championships when they visit the famed Watkins Glen International road course in August.

The Ford drivers will make their Rolex Sports Car Series debut in the Watkins Glen 200 on Saturday, August 13. They will co-drive in the No. 11 TPN Racing/Blackforest Ford Mustang GT, which will be prepared for the race in the Roush Fenway Racing shops in Concord, N.C.

Ragan scored his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory at Daytona International Speedway earlier this month. He is currently 13th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings and is in position to earn a coveted position in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, driving the No. 6 UPS Ford fielded by Roush Fenway Racing.

Stenhouse is second in the NASCAR Nationwide Series standings, trailing Reed Sorenson by five points. He has one 2011 victory in the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Mustang.

The event will be the first sports car race for Ragan, while Stenhouse competed in three SCCA club races.

“This is cool to be able to do this,” Ragan said. “Watkins Glen has been a struggle for both myself and Ricky – and he’s got a chance to win the championship and we’ve got a chance to make the Chase. Watkins Glen is an important race for us, and we need all the seat time we can get.”

Roush Performance competes in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, running the No. 61 Ford Mustang Boss 302R for Jack Roush Jr. and Billy Johnson in the Grand Sport class. Roush and Johnson gave team owner Jack Roush Sr. his 400th professional victory in 2010 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“We’re giving David and Ricky an opportunity to test under the GRAND-AM/Roush system,” said Roush Performance team manager Brad Francis. “Watkins Glen, where the Rolex Series runs in combination with the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series, is the perfect opportunity to test the waters.”

Roush Racing was an undefeated 10-time GT class champion of the Rolex 24 At Daytona from 1985 through 1993 and 1995 – winning with a driver lineup including Paul Newman and Mark Martin in the latter event.
