Acton Express Racing will head to Daytona with a star-studded lineup, having announced this week that Mike Rockenfeller, Nelson Piquet Jr. and Felipe Nasr will join the 2010 Rolex 24-winning squad for January's around-the-clock marathon.

The trio will be placed amongst the team's regular-season lineup of Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi and brothers Burt and Brian Frisselle aboard the two Corvette DPs.

“After the Roar, AXR will finalize its driver and car assignments, as it works to produce the best chemistry among it’s two cars for the best overall results, an advantage other teams do not have,” said team manager Gary Nelson.

Rockenfeller is no stranger to AXR, as the Audi factory driver was part of the team's winning lineup nearly three years ago. Nasr made his Rolex 24 debut this year, as the winner of the 2011 Sunoco Daytona Challenge, finishing third overall in a Michael Shank Racing Riley-Ford.

Piquet Jr., meanwhile, will be making his GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series debut following an impressive season in NASCAR, which saw the second-generation Brazilian notch victories in both the Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series.

It's unclear if team stalwart J.C. France will drive next year. Team principal Bob Johnson explains: “As always JC is a big part of AXR and is available to help out in any role, including driving, if called upon.”
