Veteran IndyCar Series driver Alex Tagliani impressed in his first two GRAND-AM Rolex Series starts in 2012, qualifying third on his series debut at Montreal, and the French-Canadian hopes to carry that momentum over to his first 24-hour race this month at Daytona (Live, 3 p.m. ET, SPEED).

“It’s a long off-season for us in IndyCar so this gives me the perfect chance to get seat time and keep honing my driving skills in preparation for the year ahead in IndyCar," said Tagliani. "We have a fair shot at it, we have good drivers a great team, and really, who doesn’t want to drive a competitive car at the Daytona 24 Hours and have a chance to win a piece of history?”

Although the team has yet to reveal the roster for its No. 8 entry, Tagliani is expected to share Starworks' Riley-Ford with a group of talented open-wheel and sports car pilots.

The final pre-event test for the Rolex 24 At Daytona kicks off this Friday, along with the presentation of the combined ALMS and GRAND-AM rules that will govern the unified championship in 2014.
