GRAND-AM: Von Moltke Thrilled With Rolex 24 Win
Alex Job Racing driver discusses breakthrough first Rolex 24 win for Audi in SPEED.com Q&A...
Q: To what level was the support from Audi Sport customer racing?
VON MOLTKE: Our engineer, Greg Fordahl, was joined by one of the Audi Sport Team Phoenix engineers. And for pretty much every position within Alex Job Racing, there was an Audi Sport crew guy to match him.

Every engineering meeting, we had engineers from each car all working together. The engineers on the Rum Bum car and the APR car were both Audi Sport engineers. So all three cars were completely open, all working together. And the lead technical directors for Audi were overseeing all three cars. You saw a huge involvement from Audi.
Q: Do you think this win will help you get recognized as an aspiring factory driver?
VON MOLTKE: This was a huge movement in my career. We knew going in that we needed a good result. There was a massive amount of pressure, not just from the Audi side, but looking from the rest of 2013's eyes. As of right now, I don't have a full season ride. We needed a good result to hopefully get some momentum to build something.
It's a very results-orientated business. This was a huge win. I'm still trying to chase down the goal [of becoming a factory driver] but it's definitely a step in the right direction.
Q: Are you hoping to continue with Audi and Alex Job for the remainder of the season?
VON MOLTKE: Absolutely. I've always really loved driving for Alex. He has an amazing team and has the right chemistry and people to make pretty much anything successful. And I've also really enjoyed having my relationship with Audi. They're great to work with and have some of the most talented people in every position that you could work with.
As a driver, we always get the spotlight. But it's really the crew guys, the team, the race engineer, the strategist, the spotter... It's down to every last person that makes it a successful program. If you could surround yourself with the talent that Audi and Alex has been able to find, you're going to be a lot closer to becoming successful.
Ultimately, the No. 1 thing I'd like to be is in an Audi in GRAND-AM full-season and hopefully continue working towards a championship. As we saw at Daytona, this car is really strong and I definitely think it is a championship contender. Hopefully we can take advantage of it and get the results that it deserves.
