Entries for the 2013 Bathurst 12 Hour race open this Friday, June 1 - and the Promoter is offering a unique ‘early bird’ special for teams committing early.
Competitors entering prior to August 31st this year will receive a half-priced entry to the February 8-10 race, offering those who commit within the next three months a substantial saving on the regular cost of entering the race.
Building on the recently announced expanded eligibility criteria and the new regulatory freedom, early interest in the 2013 race has been higher than anticipated with nearly 30 ‘expression of interest’ forms received within two weeks of initial distribution, to both previous and potential entrants.
Bathurst 12 Hour Category Administrator Alexandra Zylstra said she expected several teams to confirm their plans this Friday.
“Early interest is very positive and we hope that this ‘early bird’ special entry fee will encourage people to get in early and enter the race,” she said.
“We received more expression of interest forms than anticipated and offering this discounted fee is a way to give these people showing interest in the race an opportunity to save some money by locking their place in early.
“The feedback from competitors – both those who have raced before and new entrants looking closely at running – has been generally very positive about the opening of the tyre regulations and the addition of the new invitational class.”
Entries close on December 14 this year.
International promoters Creventic will again offer a combined entry / freight package that makes the trip down under significantly more affordable than ever before for international entrants, with costing and further information available from the Creventic website.
An additional Invitational Class will be added to the vehicle eligibility structure, allowing vehicles up to 7000cc capacity to enter the race should they be outside of the GT or Production Car regulatory framework.
The 2013 Bathurst 12 Hour will be held on February 8-10.
