Following speculation of a late change of venue, the SRO announced Monday a further revision to the FIA GT1 World Championship calendar for 2012.

The penultimate round of the season in San Luis, Argentina, originally scheduled for Nov. 2-4, has been dropped in favor of an all-new event in South Korea on Sept. 14-16.

Home to the Korean Grand Prix, the Hermann Tilke-designed 3.49-mile circuit, located 250 miles south of Seoul, will play host to the first-ever international sports car race in the country.

The status of the Argentina event, which put the championship on three continents, as required by the FIA for World Championships status, is unknown at this point.

Confirmation of both the Korean and Russian rounds are expected to come by April 15.

The 2012 seasons for both the GT1 World Championship and GT3 European Championship begin this weekend in Nogaro, France.
