The ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Mercedes team recorded a one-two in the Championship Race at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal.

Nicky Pastorelli (NLD) and Thomas Jäger (DEU) in the No.37 Mercedes SLS AMG led home the sister car of Marc Basseng and German co-driver Marcus Winkelhock, the Qualifying Race winners from the previous day.

The No.1 Hexis Racing McLaren MP4-12C of Frederic Makowiecki (FRA) and Stef Dusseldorp (NLD) was third.

Peter Kox (NLD) in the Reiter Engineering Lamborghini No.25 grabbed fourth position with a daring move on Michael Bartels (DEU) in the No.18 Vita4One Racing BMW Z4 just before the flag.

Basseng, the ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport team boss, was delighted with the overall team result which consolidated the German outfit's lead of the teams' championship.

“I am pleased for everyone associated with the team. This is the best day for us and a great weekend with the first double victory for Mercedes in the Qualifying Race and now the Championship Race," he said.

“The team championship points are tremendously better after this race. Thanks to all our team members and all the people who support us.”

Jager added: “I think the key to the result here was the consistency of the car because the Mercedes doesn’t stress the tyres so much so we are able to do consistent lap times. With some of the other cars, the tyres seem to drop off at the end more than us.

“Nicky (Pastorelli) did a great job then after the pit stop it was a tough fight but we came through. It was a great result for the whole team, we scored a lot of points and we got the first Championship Race win for Mercedes in the FIA GT1 World Championship and first and second for the team. It’s a good day.”
