A street circuit at Rio de Janeiro will open the season in mid-March followed by St. Petersburg on the last week of March and then Barber Motortsports Park will host the inaugural Indy Grand Prix of Alabama on April 9-11 at Birmingham.
The Milwaukee Mile, a bastion of Indy car racing since 1933, is not listed on the schedule, which will be officially announced Friday, but the weekend following Indianapolis is being left open in case a new promoter can be found.
And Richmond Speedway, the bullring home of NASCAR that's been a mainstay of the Indy Racing League since 2001, has not be renewed.
