With Dave Despain handing over the Wind Tunnel hosting duties to Bob Varsha and Robin Miller this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, the pair will welcome IZOD IndyCar Series CEO Randy Bernard to the studio to reveal the 2013 IndyCar schedule.

"I'm looking forward to joining Bob and Robin this Sunday on Wind Tunnel to unveil the exciting IZOD IndyCar Series schedule our staff and a lot of enthusiastic and motivated track owners and promoters have helped to put together," Bernard told SPEED.com. "I think our fans will be happy with some of the new venues we've added and the amount of races on the schedule."

The series scheduled 16 rounds for the 2012 season, but it was reduced to 15 after the street race in Qingdao, China, was cancelled. That ordeal led Bernard to change his tact with adding new events for 2013 and beyond, and his new policy of only announcing events that have signed contracts and sanctioning fees that have been paid should be reflected on the calendar.

2013 is expected to contain as many as 19 races with the possibility of two double-header weekends.

Bernard has also been working to address the unusually long off-season ahead; it's believed the new calendar will see the season start a few weeks earlier and run a few weeks longer--into October.

Tune in on Sunday to see the 2013 schedule unveiled live on SPEED and visit SPEED.com immediately after the announcement to read about the calendar in detail.
