Cannon, who engineered AJ Allmendinger to five Champ Car wins in 2006, Simona de Silvestro during her rookie IndyCar season and worked with Tony Kanaan last year, recently departed Ed Carpenter Racing and was snapped up by Dragon to oversee Legge during her first road course since Brazil in April.

"We're really happy to have Michael with us for Sonoma," Dragon Racing owner Jay Penske told SPEED.com. "I think he and Katherine will work well together."

Penske also confirmed the team will return to a single entry for the final two races of the season where Neil Fife, Dragon's full-time race engineer, will handle those responsibilities.
