Sarah Fisher Racing (SFR) announced today plans to relocate its race shop to a larger facility this winter. The two-year-old team has outgrown its current facility, which it has only occupied since January 2008. The team began their move into the new facility today.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement that the team would expand Sarah Fisher's Dollar General program to nine races and add 2006 Firestone Indy Lights Champion Jay Howard for four events in 2010 with backing from Tire Kingdom. SFR will move into a facility, which is 15,000 square-feet, triple the size of its current facility.

"Growth is a great problem to have," said Fisher. "We've worked tirelessly to build and expand this program, and we're thrilled to see the results in our 2010 plans. I have a new teammate, a new car, and now we will have the room to stretch our legs and keep developing."

Just a few suites down from their current shop, the new facility features a dedicated build area for the team's cars, an in-house setup and twist rigs facility, a design area and state-of-the-art machine shop. The new facility is in move-in condition, and the team will transition seamlessly to their new home during the off-season.

"When we moved into our current shop," said Fisher, "we gutted the place. We got in, rolled our sleeves up and designed the shop the way we wanted it. With the new place, it is ready for us to move in and get right to work on the cars."

Fisher said the team maintains their small-business charm. The addition of a new driver and new team members just means this family is growing for the better.

"We have the best crew, the best sponsors and any new additions are welcomed with open arms," said Fisher. "We are a close-knit group here and no matter how big this team gets, we will always be the same SFR family."

SFR announced on Oct. 9 at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) that Howard and primary sponsor, Tire Kingdom, would join Fisher's No. 67 Dollar General-sponsored program in the SFR shop beginning with the 2010 IZOD IndyCar® Series racing season.
