Tom Jensen, former president of the National Motorsports Press Association and the 1997 NMPA Writer of the Year, was named to the position of Editor-in-Chief at SPEEDtv.com, it was announced today.
Jensen, who most recently served as Senior NASCAR Editor for SPEEDtv.com, is now responsible for managing and directing the news and editorial content on SPEEDtv.com, and for coordinating content with the broadcast side of the business, as well as key content partners.
“Tom has been a cornerstone of our editorial efforts, serving as a peer and leader by example and always willing to over-deliver,” said Joe Tripp, SPEEDtv.com Director of Interactive Operations. “Our NASCAR readers have been the direct beneficiary of his insight and expertise, and he’s been instrumental in helping us craft our current content plan. Jensen, winner of numerous national, state and local journalism awards, is the former Executive Editor of NASCAR Scene, Managing Editor of National Speed Sport News and the author of “Cheating – The Bad Things Good NASCAR Racers Do in Pursuit of Speed.”
