LE MANS: Aston Martin Racing Photo Gallery

Dressed in what's surely the most classic of all Le Mans liveries, Aston Martin Racing is sponsored by the Gulf Oil company, using their familiar blue and orange paint scheme. (Photo: Marshall Pruett) ยป More Photos

From the two baby blue and Orange Gulf Aston Martin DBR9's to the sleek Aston Martin V12-engined Lola LMP1 coupe, the cars from AMR are amongst the most stunning in the field at Le Mans in 2008. Taking their first LM24 win with the DBR9 in 2007, the team has made a wealth of improvements in the off season to help secure a second successive victory. From new rear wings to slightly re-profiled splitters, the GT1 Aston's are wonders of technical design and polished presentation.

Adjacent to the DBR9's is the space age Lola-Aston Martin, with its highly contoured body and purpose-built racing chassis. Utilizing the same shrieking
V12 engine as the GT1 cars, the car, run in partnership with Charouz Racing Systems, delivers the glorious sounds of twelve cylinders firing in the back of a prototype again after nearly a decade's absence. With the rest of the chassis' advancements, it's a car worthy of marvel and engineering praise.

We've posted 42 images of the AMR cars, with a mix of portrait, action, and technical shots for your enjoyment. All are also available as DOWNLOADABLE WALLPAPERS, in sizes as large as 2650x1600.
