Rebellion Racing has confirmed the first driver for its expected duel program in the American Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championship, announcing Thursday the renewal of Andrea Belicchi.

The Italian driver, who teamed with Neel Jani and Nicolas Prost to win last year's Petit Le Mans, will start his 2013 season at the Twelve Hours of Sebring, part of a planned two-car attack for the Anglo-Swiss squad in the ALMS opener.

"The team’s racing program for 2013 is not finalized for the moment, but I am confident it will be a strong one," Belicchi said. "There is mutual trust between us and we will be looking to be in a position to win, no matter which championship or continent we’re racing on! The team and our technical partners are working hard on improvements for the car, there are many developments to come, and I am ready myself already to start the new season with Rebellion Racing.”

Team manager Bart Hayden added: "I am very pleased that Andrea will be with us again next season, he has been and remains a key member of the team. He is quick, reliable, loyal and he shares our great team spirit."

Full details on Rebellion's 2013 plans will be unveiled later this month. The team has already confirmed it will enter one Lola B12/60 Toyota for the full ALMS season, with at least one additional entry expected for the WEC.
