While a leading European Ferrari GT team has confirmed a late entry, another squad has pulled out of this weekend's Six Hours of Silverstone, the fourth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Luxury Racing has withdrawn its two Ferrari F458 Italias, citing funding issues dating back to the French squad's runner-up finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

"Since Le Mans 24 Hours was finished, there should have been an important capital contribution from a majority shareholder of Luxury Racing that should have financially secured the following five races of the WEC season," the team said in a statement.

"Unfortunately, this contribution has not come. Therefore a decision was taken to find other investors."

Luxury's championship-seeking entries featured the all-star lineup of Jaime Melo and Fred Makowiecki in its GTE-Pro machine, which finished second in class at Le Mans. Americans Gunnar Jeannette and Frankie Montecalvo spearheaded the driving strength in the GTE-Am class Ferrari with Pierre Ehret.

While not taking part this weekend, the team says they are in negotiations with another investor that would allow them to complete the four remaining rounds, beginning with the Six Hours of Sao Paulo on Sept. 13-15.

As a result of Luxury's pullout, it's expected only 35 cars will be at Silverstone, including a reduced field of five GTE-Pro and eight GTE-Am entrants.

The GTE-Pro grid, however will see a small boost, with JMW Motorsport having lodged an entry for its Ferrari last week.

Jonny Cocker and James Walker will pilot the Dunlop-shod Prancing Horse, a regular in the European Le Mans Series and winners of the first two rounds. The Jim McWhirter-owned squad, however, has elected not to take part in the Petit Le Mans, which will close out the ELMS season.

It's unclear if JMW will contest further FIA WEC events or Silverstone would be their final race of the year.
