LMP2 rookies Gulf Racing Middle East has added a much-needed pair of prototype veterans to its driver lineup for next weekend's 60th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, the opening round of the new FIA World Endurance Championship.

The French-based squad, flying the colors of the UAE, announced Wednesday the signing of Stefan Johansson and Jan Charouz, who will complete the lineup in the the team's two Lola B12/80 Nissans.

Johansson will share the wheel of the No. 29 entry with Frederic Fatien and Keiko Ihara, while Charouz will be aboard the No. 28 machine with team principal Fabien Giroix and Maxime Jousse.

Both drivers are no strangers to LMP2 competition, with Johansson having teamed with United Autosports for a debut podium finish at Petit Le Mans last year, while 24-year-old Charouz is a former podium finisher at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with OAK Racing, having also driven LMP1-class Lolas at Le Mans from 2007-2009.

Sebring will also mark a homecoming for the veteran Swede, who last drove a Lola in CART some 19 years ago.

Gulf rolled out its two new cost-capped Lolas late last month at Magny Cours, with Giroix, Fatien, Jousse and Ihara all getting seat time ahead of the once-around-the-clock Florida classic, set for March 17.
