After battling for this year's American Le Mans Series P2 title, Level 5 Motorsports and Conquest Endurance are likely to be taking their friendly rivalry to France next year, with both teams having confirmed plans to accept their auto invites for next year's twice-around-the-clock enduro.

Level 5, Conquest, along with GT squad Extreme Speed Motorsports were selected by IMSA as its three "at large" entries that will represent the ALMS in the 90th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The auto-entry for Level 5 will mark the team's third consecutive appearance at La Sarthe, with the two-time ALMS P2 class champions planning to again field its HPD ARX-03b for Scott Tucker, who is poised to make his fourth LM24 start.

“We’re honored to have been recognized by the American Le Mans Series and ACO for our past achievements and to again secure an entry for the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” Tucker said. “Having finished third in 2011, we’ve been very eager to return to the podium, and hopefully the top step next year.

"We have a lot of work ahead of ourselves but plan to represent the ALMS and the U.S. in the best possible light on the world’s stage.”

While having scored eight class victories in 2012, including a 1-2 overall finish at Baltimore, Level 5 enjoyed a season-long fight with the Conquest Morgan-Nissan of Martin Plowman and David Heinemeier Hansson, which grabbed two wins in the cost-capped ranks.

The Eric Bachelart-led team also plans to accept its invite, along with a return to the ALMS next year with a to-be-determined driver lineup.

"The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the pinnacle of endurance racing," Bachelart said. "Having a guaranteed entry allows us to start preparing early to make sure that when we show up in June we are an immediate contender for the win. We have had a very strong year and I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish as a team.

"Our focus now is to put together the strongest possible package for next year so we can carry on with our momentum from 2012.”

No official word has come from ESM regarding its auto-invite, although it's also expected the Scott Sharp-owned team will be making its debut in the race as well, with at least one Ferrari F458 Italia.
