The Automobile Club de l’Ouest announced Friday its entry selection for the 90th anniversary 24 Hours of Le Mans, set for June 22-23.

Featuring 56 participants, including the new GreenGT H2, which will run unclassified, this year's twice-around-the-clock endurance classic will again see a two-way fight between Audi and Toyota for overall honors.

Three Audi R18 e-tron quattros will do battle against two Toyota TS030 Hybrids, with additional LMP1 entries from Rebellion Racing (Lola B12/60 Toyota) and Strakka Racing (HPD ARX-03c). The class features a total of eight cars, a significant drop from recent years.

Helping make up for the depleted LMP1 numbers is an expanded grid in LMP2, with an impressive 22-car field set to take on the twice-around-the-clock endurance classic.

Notable entries in the cost-capped prototype ranks include defending class winners Starworks Motorsport (HPD ARX-03b), a stout three-car entry by OAK Racing (Morgan-Nissan), as well as 2012 ALMS P2 champions Level 5 Motorsports, which has confirmed its automatic invitation.

After a decade-long absence, the iconic Viper brand will return to Le Mans, with SRT Motorsports fielding a pair of factory Viper GTS-Rs in GTE-Pro. They'll be joined by fellow American factory outfit Corvette Racing, along with FIA WEC season-long factory entries from Aston Martin, Porsche and Ferrari in the strong 11-car field.

Fourteen cars make up the GTE-Am category, including a much-anticipated entry from Dempsey Racing-Proton, which will field an ex-Felbermayr-Proton Porsche 911 GT3 RSR for Patrick Dempsey, Joe Foster and Michael Avenatti. The other big ALMS name comes from Extreme Speed Motorsports, which has accepted its auto-invite and will field a Ferrari F458 Italia with nominated driver Scott Sharp.

Other American interests in GTE-Am include Krohn Racing and the newly formed 8Star Motorsports team. Both teams will run Ferrari F458 Italias and are also entered in the full eight-round FIA WEC season.

There a total of ten reserves, six for LMPs and four GTEs, including the TRG-AMR North America Aston Martin Vantage V8 entry, which is fourth in the queue with team principal Kevin Buckler as the nominated driver.
