Lucas Luhr was named Friday the third driver for Team Jota's LMP2 effort in this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 33-year-old German joins Simon Dolan and new recruit Oliver Turvey aboard the team's Zytek Z11SN Nissan for the twice-around-the-clock endurance classic on June 22-23.

"I am very pleased to be joining Jota Sport for this year's Le Mans 24 Hours," Luhr said. "They have a proven record in LMP2 and are a very professional team, so I am really looking forward to working alongside Simon and Oliver. My initial impression from testing is that we have an excellent package.

"We will all be pushing very hard to achieve a strong result for the team at Le Mans. I have already won the GT class there and would definitely like to add an LMP2 victory as well. The category is extremely competitive so it won't be easy, but we will give it our all."

The LM24 program for the former Audi driver adds to his title defense in the American Le Mans Series with Muscle Milk Pickett Racing along with a season-long ride in the Blancpain Endurance Series with JRM Racing's Nissan GT-R program, which was announced yesterday.

Jota will focus its efforts this year in the newly revived European Le Mans Series, as well as making select starts in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The British squad won last year's Six Hours of Spa.

"Lucas completes what is undoubtedly our strongest Le Mans 24 Hours line-up to date," Jota Sport team principal Sam Hignett said. "The partnership he will form with Oliver and Simon should be formidable and, though the LMP2 field will be extremely competitive, we are definitely targeting victory."
