Marshall Pruett’s ALMS Mailbag 5.14.08

I just saw a tape of the Washington DC race back in 2002. That was a good race, a good track and all in all a great event. All the drivers wanted to be back. I know some locals complained about the noise. Will the ALMS ever make it back to Washington DC?

Rob Fisher

Rob--IMSA Chief Operating Officer Tim Mayer was kind enough to field this one for you.

Rob,

The Washington race was a great event, and a great place to race. Unfortunately, both the company that promoted the race and the venue are now no longer in existence. But
we are always open to ideas to race at locations, which like Washington DC, make sense.

Regards,

Tim

What happened to the Aston Martin in GT1? They crashed and said they needed time to fix the car but why aren't they racing at Utah? They didn't race at Long Beach either.

Chris--that's another question I've been getting a lot lately. In fact, the answers I got from Jim Bell of Bell Motorsport were so intriguing, I'm turning it into a separate feature story for Friday. Keep your eyes peeled.
