A persistent mist at Maple Grove Raceway forced the Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals to be delayed until 10 a.m. EDT Monday.

The NHRA Full Throttle Series had just completed the second round of nitro eliminations before the fog that skirted around the track turned into a light drizzle that never let up.

The highlight of the day so far was Del Worsham and the Al-Anabi Top Fuel dragster taking the class national record away from Antron Brown's Matco Tools rail, which had reset the mark Saturday night.

Worsham broke the record in the first round of eliminations with a lap of 3.760 seconds at 322.96 mph. If the record holds, Worsham, who faces David Grubnic and the Kalitta dragster in the semis, will walk away with 20 bonus points.

The other Top Fuel semifinal will be Larry Dixon's Al-Anabi dragster against Spencer Massey and the Fram rail.

In Funny Car, Johnny Gray's Service Central Dodge Charger will square off against Bob Tasca III and the Motorcraft Quick Lane Ford Mustang. On the other side of the ladder, Jeff Arend's DHL Toyota races the Auto Club Ford Mustang driven by Robert Hight.

The stock categories had only made it through the first round. The highlight race of the second round of Pro Stock will pit points leader Jason Line and the Summit Racing Pontiac GXP against the ZaZa Energy Chevy Cobalt driven by Erica Enders, who is third in the points.

Line also set the national ET record with a lap of 6.483 seconds at 212.23 mph. He is also in line for a 20 point bonus.

In Pro Stock Motorcycle, No. 1 qualifier Hector Arana III made it to the second round aboard the Lucas Oil Buell and faces Chip Ellis in the second round. Four of the top five in bike points are still alive.
