SPEED has licensed 10 original one-hour episodes of Bullrun, the popular cross-country rally program hosted by former pro wrestler and self-admitted autophile Bill Goldberg, to anchor its Thursday night prime time lineup beginning Feb. 19 at 10 p.m. ET.

The show, based on the international rally of the same name, follows 12 teams of diverse personalities, driving everything from Corvettes to Ferraris to a VW microbus across 3,500 miles of the southwestern United States in search of fame and fortune. And it isn't as simple as getting from point A to point B. Challenges, conflicts and car problems stand between each team and $200,000 in cash and prizes.

"Bullrun is a perfect fit for SPEED viewers," said SPEED SVP of Programming Steve Craddock. "It has intense competition, incredible rides, spectacular stunts and a cast of characters willing to do whatever it takes to win … and Goldberg is the perfect ringleader for this over-the-top, car lover's competition."

All of the challenges were devised and created by the Bullrun team under the supervision of stunt director Matt Kutcher, whose credits include the upcoming film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and the new Mike Judge product, Extract.

To make things a little more interesting, Bullrun rules favor the smart, often punishing the overeager:
- No GPS or satellite navigation systems can be used
- No cell phones
- No laptop computers
- No radio or CD player
- Speeding leads to severe penalties; arrests lead to immediate disqualification
- Each day, cars can only leave when instructed
- Cars must start and finish each day under their own power, or the power of their drivers

Exclusive Bullrun short-form content will be made available all season through SPEEDtv.com, VOD cable, iTunes video podcasts, mobile phones, cable broadband sites and viral distribution. Teams were given portable video equipment to record their personal adventure, and clips from these videos will be available each week as part of the behind-the-scenes extras at SPEEDtv.com.

On the mobile front, long-form episodes will be available on Sprint wireless handsets via Sprint TV. SPEED clips and original short-form content will be made available to Sprint, Cingular, MobiTV and others.

Bullrun advanced screenings and free clips also will be available for electronic download via iTunes, Amazon and other electronic download distributors.
