SPEEDTV.COM EARNS “STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE” AWARD AFTER RELAUNCHING EARLIER THIS YEAR

The Web Marketing Association (WMA), an organization of Advertising, Public Relations and Design Professionals, recently announced that SPEEDtv.com has earned the 2008 Standard of Excellence Award. SPEEDtv.com, The Online Motorsports Authority, is the web home of SPEED™, the nation's first and foremost cable television network dedicated to motor sports and the passion for everything automotive. The completely overhauled Web site launched in February, exceeded industry and WebAward standards across the board.

The WebAward Competition, the premier award event for Web developers and marketers worldwide, has been helping interactive professionals promote their companies and work to the outside world for 12 years.

Other Standard of Excellence Awards in the Television category included notables such as FOX’s “House” and USA Network’s “Dr. Steve-0.” Criteria awards were based upon design, innovation, technology and ease of use. The redesigned site includes a straight-forward navigation design that leverages its key content areas, a robust video strategy, innovative presentation of program content and schedule information, high-impact advertising placement, and a visually appealing, rich look and feel that reflects the look of the network while enhancing the overall SPEED experience.

The quality and quantity of content has been dramatically increased as well. SPEEDtv.com features insightful, timely reporting on everything from NASCAR to Formula One, Supercross to Car Reviews. With a 24/7 approach to news and commentary, SPEEDtv.com truly earns its title “The Online Motorsports Authority.”

“We’re thrilled to be recognized by our peers for this project,” said Joe Tripp, Director of Interactive Operations at SPEED and project lead. “What is really exciting is that we are our own toughest critics and know that the site has even more potential In our view, SPEEDtv.com is still a long way from being where we think it can be, but is light years ahead of where we were just a year ago … especially behind the scenes. We now have a solid, scalable platform from which we can grow our online business.”
