Andrew Hobbs announced he will hit the Road to Indy with Arms Up Motorsports, entering the Cooper Tires US F2000 National Championships Powered by Mazda.

With primary sponsorship support from PulseTM, safer braking technology, the native from Milwaukee is making the step up after a successful summer in the Skip Barber Summer Series.

"I am incredibly excited to announce that I will be running with Arms-Up Motorsports this year. We've known the team for a long time and we know they put together a very competitive car. It's been a long off season and everyone has worked very hard to put this together. Joining the Mazda Road to Indy is a fantastic experience and I'm so happy to be a part of this program that will hopefully take me to the IZOD IndyCar Series. I can’t wait to get started " stated Hobbs.

Gregg Borland, the captain of the Milwaukee based team commented, "We are all really excited to have Andrew join Arms Up Motorsports. We tested Drew straight out of his first three-day racing school where he made a great impression on the team. We've kept an eye on his progress in Skip Barber and then tested him again last fall in the USF2000 car. He immediately impressed us with his technical feedback along with his outright pace. We are facing a bit of an uphill battle at Sebring due to the late start, but the whole team has confidence that Drew will be a contender in the Championship this year."

If the name Hobbs sounds familiar, you are probably a F1 fan. Andrew is the grandson to International Motorsports Hall of Fame Inductee and fan favorite commentator for F1 television coverage, David Hobbs. David’s legendary career includes four starts in The Indianapolis 500 with a highest finish of fifth, running in the years, ‘71, ‘73, ‘74 and ‘76. “Coming as he did from go-karts and then into Skip Barber, the Road to Indy is a natural progression for Andrew”, said David. “Like his grandfather before him open wheel racing is his first choice and what better goal than the most famous and biggest race in the world.”

Primary sponsor for Andrew’s #15 is PulseTM. PulseTM, safer braking technology, pulses the third brake light when you step on the brake pedal. The award winning technology is the rear-end collision deterrent that is made in America and installed by authorized dealers, including David Hobbs Honda. “Teaming up with Andrew Hobbs is a perfect fit for Pulse and we are thrilled to support him on his Road to Indy,” said Dave Sorg, national sales director of Kinetech, makers of Pulse. “Pulse has a longstanding professional relationship with David Hobbs Honda who has been in the dealership business serving customers for over 25 years. We share an enthusiasm for quality products for our customers.”

In addition to PulseTM, Andrew expressed his gratitude, “I would not be here without the help of our amazing partners including Pulse, The Automotive Broadcast Network, David Hobbs Honda, MasterTech, Prestige and many others. I can’t thank everyone involved enough for making this possible and would encourage fans to visit my website and learn more about these excellent companies. I am really proud to be an ambassador for all of them.”

Andrew’s season will kick off at Sebring International Raceway during the 12-Hours of Sebring event. The weekend will host a double race weekend like the majority of all US F2000 National Championship events and will crisscross the country racing into St. Petersburg, Florida; Indianapolis, IN; Columbus, Ohio; Monterey, CA; Houston, TX and into Canada with the very popular Toronto Indy event for a total of 14 races that will test these young drivers to the fullest.
