GRAND-AM Daytona Prototype standout Ricky Taylor will join IndyCar's James Hinchcliffe as the two international drivers competing for Garry Rogers Motorsport at the Gold Coast 600.

Held October 19-21 on the streets of Surfers Paradise, 23-year-old Taylor will make his V8 Supercars debut for Fujitsu Racing GRM driving a Holden Commodore after completing his season piloting the SunTrust Racing Dallara Corvette DP car.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to race with Garry Rogers team at the Gold Coast,” said Taylor, who has two wins so far this season. “I have heard a lot about the event and can’t wait to participate.”

In three seasons of GRAND-AM competition, Taylor has earned a reputation as a rising star with 10 poles and six wins to his credit while driving alongside Italian veteran Max Angelelli.

Taylor and Angelelli have also finished second in the DP drivers' standing the past two years.

Taylor will have some familiar competition to face when he heads Down Under.

In addition to Team Penske IndyCar star Ryan Briscoe, who he's driven with at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, he'll also go wheel-to-wheel with 2004 DP champion Max Papis and GRAND-AM regular Boris Said, who are making their Gold Coast 600 debuts.
