Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports IndyCar driver Simon Pagenaud will be reunited with Lee Holdsworth for this year's Gold Coast 600 V8 Supercars race.

The combo finished on the podium in Race 2 of the unique, two-day, twin-round 300km event that pairs an international driver with each of the 28 V8 Supercar regulars.

Driving for Garry Rogers Motorsports, the tandem of Pagenaud and Holdsworth proved to be one of the revelations of the 2011 GC600, and with Holdsworth moving over to the renowned Stone Brothers Racing outfit in the off season, the Aussie requested the services of the well-rounded Frenchman for this year's event, held October 19-21 on the streets of Surfers Paradise.

“I’m really pleased to have Simon come back and drive with me as we did pretty well last year with a podium finish," said Holdsworth. “With Simon being familiar with the V8 Supercars that will definitely help us, plus we both know what we want out of the car and he is happy with the way I set the car up. I think that will all work really well. I’m looking forward to driving with him again because he is a great driver and a great guy, and it’s good to have him back.”

With its three-car team currently sitting fifth (Shane van Gisbergen), seventh (Holdsworth) and eighth (Tim Slade) in points, Pagenaud knows he'll be joining a powerhouse program in October.

“This team has had such great accomplishments and I felt very blessed when I got a call from Ross [Stone]!" said Pagenaud who, like Holdsworth, sits seventh in his own championship.

"Reuniting with Lee Holdsworth is a tremendous opportunity. Lee is an awesome driver and I look forward to helping him secure the points he will need at the end of the year for his championship.”

SBR also announced the rest of its international GC600 drivers, adding Porsche expert and recent Le Mans prototype driver Jeroen Bleekemolen to van Gisbergen's car, and bringing back two-time Le Mans winner David Brabham to share Slade's entry.
